New Deal Art: "Smithsonian Institution Building"

Above: "Smithsonian Institution Building," an oil painting by Charles Hoover (1897-1969), created while he participated in the WPA's Federal Art Project, ca. 1935-1943. During the New Deal, WPA workers helped the Smithsonian organize and preserve its historic artifacts, and also helped maintain the grounds. Judging by this painting, it seems they did a good job.
