Above: This presentation is inspired by Dr. Gray Brechin's observation that the
difference between public policy today and public policy during the New
Deal is so extreme that the New Deal can be considered a lost
civilization (consider, for example, the handling of Wall Street wrongdoing & incompetence, then vs. now). The presentation starts with various news headlines that show some of today's most pressing issues and then transitions into the posters. I have always been impressed by the optimism expressed in the WPA posters. They are quite the contrast to the extreme negativity & cynicism of our political "leaders" today.
