WPA Theatre: "Processional"

Above: The "Processional" was a play written by John Howard Lawson, ca. 1924-1925, and was performed by WPA actors in 1937. Lawson was a member of the "Hollywood Ten," a group of men sent to prison in 1950 for failing to give information to a witch hunting Congressional committee. The men refused to answer questions about their possible communist affiliation and, after serving their prison sentences, were largely blacklisted from Hollywood.
